Lithuanian Air Force confirmed for Royal Navy International Air Day

The Royal Navy International Air Day next year will welcome a UK flying display debut for the Lithuanian Air Force.

As the the first confirmed participant, the Lithuanian Air Force will provide an L-39 Albatros jet trainer in the flying display at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton on Saturday 13 July. The Baltic air arm will also reprise its 2018 static display contribution with examples of the C-27J Spartan tactical transport and Mi-8MTV-1 Hip troop transport/search and rescue helicopter.

The Mi-8 was winner of the Best Rotary Wing Static Display at Air Day 2018. Lithuania employs three examples in the troop transport and search and rescue roles.

Three examples of the Spartan are operated by the air arm, and the type was open to visitors at the 2018 show.
