Lakenheath Eagles to Romania

F-15Cs have flown to Romania for an exercise.

October 26: Ten F-15C Eagles from the 493rd Fighter Squadron (FS) based at RAF Lakenheath in the UK have deployed to Campia Turzii Air Base in Romania for Exercise Golden Lance.

Joint air-to-air combat training operations will be undertaken with the Romanian Air Force – “We’re excited to bring our F-15C capability to demonstrate our air superiority skills, train with a formidable NATO ally and integrate our services on offensive counter-aircraft training missions,” said Lt Colonel Skip Pribyl, the 493rd FS commander.

The Eagles will train alongside the MiG Aerostar/Elbit LanceR A, an upgraded MiG-21 Fishbed and operated by the Flotila 71 Aeriană at Campia Turzii.
